BetaScout helps Android users find and track Google Play beta programs for the apps installed on their devices.

This is the place to talk about BetaScout, ask questions, share ideas, report missing beta programs, and help improve the app and its community-maintained catalog.

🐛 Found a bug?

Please report reproducible bugs in [GitHub Issues](https://github.com/jrs8205/BetaScout/issues) instead of Discussions.

When reporting a bug, include:

• Your BetaScout version
• Your Android version
• Your device manufacturer and model
• A clear description of what happened
• Steps to reproduce the problem
• Whether you were signed in to Google Play inside BetaScout
• Screenshots or logs when available

Please remove private account information, session data, cookies, device identifiers, and other sensitive information before posting.

🔎 Know about a beta program?

You can start a discussion when:

• An app has a Google Play beta program that BetaScout does not recognize
• A known testing link no longer works
• A beta program appears to be closed, full, or discontinued
• BetaScout displays incorrect information about a beta program
• The same app appears to have different beta availability in different regions or accounts

Please include:

• The app name
• The Android package name
• The public Google Play testing link
• The regular Google Play Store link
• The country or region when relevant
• Whether the beta appeared open, full, closed, or unavailable

Do not share private testing links that you are not authorized to distribute.

ℹ️ What BetaScout does and does not do

BetaScout can scan installed apps, identify known beta programs, open Google Play testing pages, track your manually selected status, and remind you to check watched programs again.

BetaScout does not automatically join beta programs, bypass Google Play restrictions, install APK files, or guarantee that a beta slot will be available.

Beta availability can vary by Google account, country, device, and time.

🔐 Privacy

BetaScout keeps your installed-app list, personal notes, watchlist, and manually selected beta statuses on your device.

Network access is used for beta-catalog updates and, when you choose to sign in, checking your own Google Play testing pages.

Optional discovery sharing is disabled by default.

Never post:

• Google account credentials
• Authentication cookies or session data
• Access tokens
• Private account details
• Device identifiers
• Personal notes or screenshots containing sensitive information

Clearly distinguish between:

• Confirmed beta-program information
• Account-specific or region-specific results
• Personal observations
• Unverified assumptions

A beta program that is available to one person may appear full or unavailable to another.
