Readline is designed to work upon single lines. Vim is not. Yank drops everything from your kill-ring onto your current position. Within Vim, we need to work out when is the appropriate time to reset the kill-ring or perhaps change it's behavior to something like undo.
At the moment I'm not sure what to do and am open to suggestions.
