can't compile for OS X

getting the following error when trying to build:

ld: duplicate symbol bool GVEXimportData<UT_Matrix4T >(GB_GenericData const&, UT_Matrix4T&)in src/hAbcGeomExport.o and src/GeoObject.o for architecture x86_64
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [/Users/mofo/Library/Preferences/houdini/11.1/dso/hAbcExport.dylib] Error 1

This error has been confirmed by myself and also another user in the alembic googlecode group.

Right now I'm reading this: http://www.sidefx.com/docs/hdk10.0/hdk_intro_compiling.html

saying

There currently are no starter Makefiles available for the Mac OSX. You must create your Makefile from scratch.

which might be helpful as information -- or might not be. :(

Right now I'm having issues when trying to follow this Makefile-style building on Windows, but for different reasons (to put it short, it's a shit platform).

Hey Imre,

Yeah I was looking at that too - however, I was able to compile some of the example tools included in the HDK by using the hcustom command. this is the same workflow as trying to build alembic, no?

Matt: Not really--hcustom is for building simple stuff. I'm using the sidefx-provided makefiles to build on linux, but the same thing didn't work on windows. I had to work around it (on windows) by building a visual studio solution.

I'm referring to the makefiles that come with Houdini, see $HFS/toolkit/makefiles (this is on linux, though). The online docs also have a section about how to use them.
