[Feature] Comprehensive list of suggestions

Here is a list of suggestions people have come up with after a few days of playing on our SMP. Some of these have been mentioned before but never coded in.

• Muzzles that turn chat msgs into meow/woof etc sounds
• GPS tracking for your pet (mentioned in [feature request] tracker #57)
• Transferring a pet's ownership with some sort of transfer deed
• Bell collars (mentioned in [Feature] Sound and Texture rework. #54)
• A gamerule to prevent other players from breaking a pet's leash on a fence without ownership
• Gates should be toggleable by pet owners instead of redstone (not sure how this would be done but thought I'd mention it)
• Shock enchantment (also mentioned here [Feature Request] -- Shock Enchantment #37, as it was declined I might make an addon for the mod)

@sorgyfrog I'd appreciate your input on these, I can start coding them as soon as you let me know which you prefer.

Also maybe a way to toggle clickers rotating the head? It's harder to clicker train if it forces you to stare at your owner every time.

Clarification on the gates:
A number of players from my discord thought it would be annoying/difficult to hide the redstone inside builds. They wanted some way to just activate or deactivate it by hand.

Okay so this is another suggestion. Perhance an enchantment for either the collar or the foot paws; Energetic. It has Energetic I and II. Energetic one has it so you can sprint but you would sprint at normal walking speed. Energetic II would have crawling be normal walking speed and the run being the normal run speed. I feel like this is useful as it makes it a bit more convenient if you are left in foot paws. Along with this, I feel like the enchants should be added to the villager trading tables if it isn't currently.

• i like the muzzle idea a lot, i know it's been requested before
• gps tracking seems fairly simple to implement (assuming it's just an item that display your pet's coordinates)
• not sure how the transfer would work - would the affected pets have to be presented with the deed of transfer to sign it, which would update their collar? not sure what advantages this has over removing the collar and switching the owner, though i will note that i was planning to change things so that collars crafted with deeds cannot have their owner changed at all.
• i don't like how bell collars are implemented in collar trinkets since it just repeats the same sound. ideally the bell would have a small physics simulation to determine which sounds to play based on how the bearing bounces inside, but that might be a bit much.
• this seems a lot easier to implement with 1.21.8's system of unhitching leashes... this might have to be a version-exclusive feature.
• i have a prototype for redstoneless gates, but it is not backwards compatible so i'll need to write a dfu. i do think it could go in a hypothetical 1.6.1 though.
• no shock collars in this mod, but forks are okay
• a gamerule to toggle clicker rotation sounds like a good idea.
• i also like the idea of enchantments to increase agility of foot paws.

@sorgyfrog working on the muzzle now, it's coming along pretty well. I asked a friend to do a model, we can change it later if you want though

I'd say that clicker rotation should be individual to the clicker, maybe with a component tag that is togglable. Some people might want rotation and some might not.

I'll work on GPS tracking after I finish the muzzles (I'm making two versions, one with cat sounds and one with dog sounds).

Suggestions regarding muzzles

-Normal text comes through if its surrounded by *, as well as /me's coming through for roleplay
-Text that corresponds will have the same punctuation, so if some goes "What?" it will be "Woof?"
-Tone indicators that the pet can type before the actual message to get different censored results
(Ex. >a What even?!, turns into angry growls)

• Caps lock is transfered so if the muzzle wearing player types in all caps the barks/meows will be in caps, if its lowercase it will be in lowercase

Currently it feels more frustrating then fun if it just goes through the same one word reply and people cant interpret the actions or even tone of what was said

@Sweettoothart Yes that's the plan, I had that just to test the actual muzzle mechanism. I'm working on a better encoder for it to sound more realistic and be easier to understand.

at this point, i'm wondering if it might be better to just have the fences be always-on and have players using pistons to open/close pens. i do have a build that works with power, but i'm having them emit redstone particles to indicate if they're powered or not and that kind of messes up the "invisible" part...

Id like to add a feature request here aswell, the Paw Controller is currently working in whitelist mode. Id like an ability to switch it to blacklist mode, to be able to prevent the pet from interacting with specific blocks, for example ores, but let them interact with anything else

Also more ideas from my Discord: throwable toys that work similar to a snowball but drop an item upon contact
Laser pointer that forces the pet to look wherever their owner is looking
Pet treats you can feed a pet like a normal dog or a cat (cause heart particles to appear)
One of those feather on a stick things that makes the pet only look at you within like 8 blocks (and make the clicker just a noise)
Maybe a whistle that you can blow to summon a pet to you (teleport)

• clickers can now be switched between "training" and "turning" mode with shift+rclick
• fence rewrite, they no longer require redstone, right click to toggle. existing fences will be duplicated.
• gamerule to prevent others from unleashing pets, disabled by default (but you can still break the fence, so 🙃 )
• milk in the dog bowl

also, another suggestion idea to let an owner click a nametag onto the pet, renaming their name, possibly using nametag tweaks or another nametag editing mod, or soemthing
