Hi Jeroen,

I would like to give this a try to see if it can be used as an Ansible inventory. Some things are not really clear to me.
Could you explain the difference between tags and items?

Can you populate this with some example data? This would make it more clear what goes where.

I added a little bit of data. It is imported by a script that uses the REST API.

Cool! I could load the data and see how Melange was intended. I used these commands (slightly different than the README.md):

cd melange
source bin/activate
bin/python scripts/json_import.py --dest=http://localhost:5000/api/ --user=admin --password=admin <   examples/example-data.json
