Reproduction steps

1. Follow documentation on plugin config for sending logs to elastic and continuing to capture logs in Jenkins
2. Run a Jenkins job

Expected Results

To see logs in both elastic and in jenkins.

Actual Results

Logs are sent to elastic, but console output of jenkins jobs is not maintained

Nevermind, I found a previous issue that detail that this is broken an give a workaround. Begs the question why it is not addressed in the documentation.

EDIT:

Just in case someone comes across this (because of the posted xkcd), I found that using a custom observability backend works better than the elastic specific one (I don't care about sending metrics to elastic). You can use a specific link tailored to where you want to send someone in kibana for the logs. you need to add the following to the custom config fields in order to :

1. Send it through OTLP
2. Retain logging in jenkins

otel.logs.exporter=otlp
otel.logs.mirror_to_disk=true

I noticed the workaround mentioned in the comments. Would it make sense
to add this information to the documentation so users are aware of the
required configuration?
