Make it clear in the new card-based list whether a credential is Global or System scope (if applicable) #1046

Description

@daniel-beck

What feature do you want to see added?

Credential scope is a major concern for the visibility (and hence often security) of credentials:

Global scope credentials are accessible from all jobs, while System scope credentials are not. The latter are useful for top-level configuration, like GitHub/GitLab/Jira servers configured by admins, or agent connection secrets.

Despite that, in /manage/credentials/, I see everything else I probably don't care about: Which store it is (usually always the System store -- but the label doesn't tell me it's a store), the domain (now called just Global to maximize confusion, before #984 it was at least (global)).

This plugin has problematic terminology, but the lack of indicators what is shown should be considered when implementing this improvement to disambiguate what is being shown:

  • System store or scope?
  • Global scope or domain?
