Variables, Scratches, Console, Options, and About dialogs draw UNDER the WinForms canvas, and Toolbox and Properties controls. The related WPF canvas and Toolbox & Properties controls do not have this issue.
This is a known issue with would WPF and WinForms work when using the forms host integration. I'm not sure of a workaround at the moment.
