I'm new to Docker and web development in general, could you explain why people might want Docker for this?

Since Streak Calendar relies on Vercel and Convex, Docker isn't a priority right now, but I'm open to revisiting the idea with more feedback and guidance.

For a lot of people, Docker has become the new home for self-hosted software
It's often built-in to NAS operating systems, which are usually expected to stay always-on and never go anywhere
Organizationally I like that my NAS is for holding up the self-hosted software while the computer can focus all of its resources on the day-to-day computing (gaming working browsing etc)
And for novice end users it's really easy to learn, you can easily deploy all sorts of new apps with either a single Docker CLI command or the very human-readable docker-compose structure

Thanks for explaining! Currently, Streak Calendar relies on Vercel and Convex, which need setup beyond Docker. I plan to move away from these services due to cost and limitations, and I'll revisit Docker once it's self-hosted.

I may prepare a Dockerfile + compose.yaml file for everything

Next.js application can easily live in docker, as well as convex (according to its website it's possible to self-host)

Are you willing to reopen this issue and accept PR?
