Is it possible to record audio while playing another audio in the background?

I am wondering how to record audio while playing another one in the background to have as result the merge of both. For example playing a rap base track and sing over it.

I would appreciate any help.

Simultaneous recording + playback (to create a mix/dub) is a non-trivial feature that requires explicit AVAudioSession mode configuration on iOS (playAndRecord category) and similar setup on Android.

Currently react-native-nitro-sound manages the session internally. This is a valid enhancement request — tracking it. PRs welcome!
