Deckard Manifesto

Money is only yours if no one can quietly switch it off. Not a bank, not an exchange, not a company that can freeze your account, debank you, or change the terms while you sleep.

Self-custody is the answer, and self-custody makes you the bank: the security team, the treasurer, the back office. One wrong signature is permanent. There is no support line and no undo. So most people try it, feel the weight, and hand the keys back to a custodian. They are not wrong to. Permanent vigilance is a bad product.

An AI agent can carry that weight for you. Watch the accounts, prepare the moves, catch the mistake before it happens. The question is what the agent is allowed to do, and who decides.

The obvious way to give an agent a wallet is being built right now: put the key on a platform. The platform holds and uses the key, the platform enforces the rules, the platform carries the payments. It onboards in seconds, it recovers your account when you lose your phone, and it is a mistake. A wallet that needs a company's permission to sign is an account, and accounts get frozen, acquired, and shut down. Putting an agent in front of an account does not make you sovereign. It makes the custodian programmable.

Deckard is the other answer.

Your keys stay on your machine. Deckard splits the wallet in two: the part that thinks and the part that signs. The agent can read, propose, and explain. Only the signer can move money, it runs alone in its own corner of your computer, and it checks every move against rules that only you can change. The agent works for you because it cannot work for anyone else.

Your agent is your choice. Deckard is not married to a model. Use the assistant you already like, swap it the day a better one ships, run one on your own hardware when that is good enough. The signer does not care who is asking, because it does not trust anything that asks.

Your finances are not data. Reads are verified against the chain itself instead of trusted to somebody's server, and balances are shielded by default. Whoever has the information has the power. On a transparent chain, privacy is not a feature. It is the condition for sovereignty meaning anything.

What we refuse to build, permanently. No token. No custody: no server of ours will ever touch funds or keys. No surveillance: no telemetry or analytics on your finances. No closed core: everything that touches keys or policy is open source under copyleft, so it cannot be taken proprietary.

We are not asking you to trust us. We are asking you to trust math, open code, and your own keys. Companies get bought, compelled, breached, and bored. Math does not.

Deckard starts with every move proposed to you and approved by hand. Hands-off autonomy comes after a security audit and a second set of expert eyes, not before. The autonomy is the point.

Sovereignty you do not have to think about. That is the bar.
