Failed AUR packages

So i decided to try these dot files after seeing them and thinking they were good looking, not even installed yet and i already have a problem. When installing AUR packages it infinitely loops in attemps and will fail in getting AUR packages leading to me not being able to install the dot files

Same here, but running on Artix Linux (arch fork). artix-archlinux-support package is installed as well

Not asking for Artix support, but placing this info for anyone else who might be trying to use this on Artix. This is Artix-xfce-dinit, but with all xfce, sddm and xfce-goodies uninstalled.

I have the same problem on Installing AUR Packages. It is the attempt number 8 and its already trying. I dunno if theres a list of AUR packeges to install manually

you can check the conflicting AUR dependency in install log, its usually with hypr...-git and the regular verison. I'm still working on the install script to make it more robust, please stay tuned

I got this to work after some tinkering Other things to install:
pacman -Sy hyprland git kitty

Make sure the repo is in the home directory and is named "zenities" as well. I had it fail on the yay due to the zenities dir not being found. I also made the mistake of running this with root which made the home directory root lol, so don't do sudo bash, just bash INSTALL.sh since it will break once it relies on where the homedir is.

Here's my dotfiles (Artix dinit ^_^). I do have Zenities working on Artix, with Nvidia, Steam and GPU. The main branch will have migration towards lua.

Warning: it has some deviations from the original (bash over zsh because I'm unga bunga, xorg apps without pixelation, touchpad gestures, traditional scroll, monitors.conf/monitors.lua location changed to ngw-display default - these are just personal choices on vibe, not any smug or erm acthually sorta stuff lol, I kinda got carried away porting Zenities to Artix-dinit).

If you have any questions or anything weird arises, feel free to reach out. The script should 95% work out of the box

Getting wifi to work: You'll have to manually remove conman as well to prevent it from interfering with NetworkManager. I'm still refining the setup script. There's also some oddities with pipewire which is why some portions were modified. feat/artix-support will show you what I did to get it. (I still need to add the connman removal and installation of bluez-dinit). Only remove connman/connman-dinit only if you installed networkmanager-dinit (the script should do so).

There are still a couple lines that rely on systemd, but they just fail to execute. Nothing too essential is needed. Note that in hyprland 0.55, hyprctl dispatch is different as well. Do not talk to the reddit community, they are super smug. They are out for the blood of anyone who is remotely despises having to rewrite configs due to developers rapidly dropping support. (My official stance is that legacy support isn't too cumbersome and can last for a lot longer but c'est la vie) r/hyprland is an unofficial community, so don't let it get you too turned off from hyprland itself.

Here's a picture of my setup working. Right now, I'm trying to remove the Archlinux logo since I use Artix :P

Also, I might gut the default wallpapers from my version until I can get explicit approval from their creators. In lieu, I'll have either instructions with links or a script to download + display of authors. I am debating heavily since the branch history will diverge completely, making merging the changes a bit more difficult for anyone who wants to use the og.

Edit: The codeberg provide will deviate more and more from Zenities over time, but I do keep the branches feat/artix-support alive, so Artix-dinit users can cross reference it/apply patches to their Zenities since I have hella respect for Hayyaoe ^_^

If you run the script again if it hangs, the aur stuff sometimes works properly
