We maintain a list of inactive orgs on the bottom of /org, and each org still has a /org/org-name-slug page.
Here's an example.

I feel strongly that we should keep these inactive orgs around for historical reference. I've referenced the info of individual orgs, and to do aggregate stats on active vs inactive, so it's of value. Plus, people searching for a specific topic or old org will still end up on the HG website. We can at least help get these people to the /orgs page to see what is active and/or to join the HG Slack and programs.
- What I think can be improved is making the "Inactive" badge on an inactive org page more apparent. Perhaps making it with a light red shading and/or whatever other things would be more apparent for accessibility users.
- We have an Inactive At date field in the database for these orgs. We are already showing the Established At date/year as a badge on the /org/____ pages and it would be helpful to show both years in the badge for an inactive org. (ex. 2016 - 2017)
- I also don't see value in showing the Calendar Feed for inactive groups, since that URL would not do anything useful and it might confuse someone if they didn't notice the "Inactive" badge.
