Great point @adamzerella we probably should do something in core as well. A warning in the console saying color X has changed to Y to meet color contrast.

This should be done in govau/design-system-components#343

In addition to this change I think the core component should also include a @warn in sass to tell the users what colour has changed.

For example

Warning: Your text colour red had to be changed to darkred to meet a 4.5 contrast on a white background.

This might be a way to inject the warnings logged in core into the output of chameleon.
