Pop up modal not working

Describe the bug
Grid sections are not displayed and the modal isn't working in the Moodle 5 release.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Go to a course with the grid course format.
2. Make sure the course format setting is using "Popup" modal.
3. Click a course section with the mouse cursor.
4. See that nothing happens.

Expected behaviour
I expect the section that was clicked to be opened in the modal window and navigation via mouse and keyboard to work.
