Description
The BrandNavbar plugin was added by default in 2025.02, which inconditionally adds a 30px new bar at the top of the screen below the georchestra header. From my understanding, it's a placeholder for:
- save/saveas buttons
- resourcedetails button/map title
- logo (which isnt used in ms2-georchestra)
- language selector (which isnt used in ms2-georchestra)
when the user isnt connected, there's only a white empty bar.
When the user is connected, there are only save/saveas buttons, eventually the resourcedetails button if the map has details.
that's still a lot of space taken on the screen for very little features. I dunno what plans there are for that BrandNavbar future, but that's not worth it.
i've locally tested dropping the BrandNavbar plugin from localConfig.json in all 4 configurations (common, desktop, dashboard, geostory), and the save/saveas/resourcedetails buttons are back in the sidebar, as it was the case in 2024.02. The map title isnt shown anywhere, which is the only "regression" i'd see there.
I dunno if it's a personal preference, but that used to be better for end users. On some platforms users are always connected (like rennes internal platform @catmorales); but for other platforms where users might not be connected most of the time (@fphg ?), the wasted space is too much. So i'd suggest dropping BrandNavbar from the default config.
What kind of improvement you want to add? (check one with "x", remove the others)
