moodle-course_meta installation issue

1. I have copied course_meta and customscripts folders into moodle root directory.
2. I have copied $CFG->customscripts = DIR.'/local/customscripts'; line into config.php
3. But Getting no notification for plugins installation in site notifications.
   Please help me out from this issue because i am new to moodle.
   Moodle version: 2.7.20

This plugin is kind of a kludge/hack on top of moodle, but I couldn't find a better way to implement it, so it's installation is tricky at best. Try this.

1. Inside the moodle folder, create a folder called customscripts.
2. Inside that folder, make a folder called course.
3. Make sure these two files are inside that folder: https://github.com/frumbert/moodle-course_meta/tree/Moodle2.7/customscripts/course
4. edit your config.php file and add

$CFG->customscripts = __DIR__.'/customscripts'; 

5. put the folder called course_meta into your localscripts folder
6. have a look in your moodle folder open the folder user then the folder profile then the folder field and make sure that the folders from here are listed. If any are missing copy them in from the course_meta file.
7. log on as admin then go to site administration > notifications to trigger the plugin install. If this doesn't trigger, you might need to check permissions or the owner of the files you added. Explaining how to do this will depend on your host / setup.
8. Check site administration > plugins > local plugins to see if you can see the plugin listed.
9. If it's listed, open its settings page and add categories and fields as required. It works just the same as user profile fields.

Then, when you edit a course, you'll be able to specify these field values.

@shekharknvs this wasn't required for Moodle 2.7 when this was last updated. The 3.x branch is different and all these requirements are now there, but I haven't had the time to maintain these old plugins. Will probably get to them in the next month or so. $plugins->component is normally the name of the plugin, which would be 'local_course_meta'
