I don't know if you were on Fabric's Discord, but i requested a couple of time ago a very similar idea to the concept of WickedPaintings, but instead of a variant of paintings i thought in a variant of maps (since they can be carried and rendered in hand and can be placed on item frames to achieve a similar result of your mod.
Anyway, your implementation nailed my interests! I will promptly use that as soon it gets to 1.20!
