How to use “plain configuration specification” in command line? #78

Description

@lushndm

Hi, and thanks for the project.

In the README I see the following statement:

“Configuration specification in JSON and plain is supported both in command line & prometheus configuration”

However, I cannot figure out how the plain configuration format is supposed to be used from the command line.

In the latest release (v3.2), the only target‑related options I see are:

  • -targets — comma‑separated list
  • -t — multiple argument parameters

I don’t see any option for providing a plaintext file or plaintext URL with targets, and I also don’t see how JSON configuration would be passed via command line.

Could you clarify what “plain configuration specification” means in this context, and how it can be used from the command line in v3.2?

Thanks in advance.
