Thank you for choosing OpenBrowserChat. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains what data our Chrome Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.
OpenBrowserChat is designed to prioritize your privacy. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our own servers.
- Selected Text and Page Content: The extension only reads the text you explicitly select on a web page or the context necessary for the AI to answer your queries when you interact with the extension.
- Chat History: Your chat history is stored strictly locally on your device.
- API Keys and Configurations: The API keys (e.g., OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek) and custom settings (like System Prompts and Skills) you enter are stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API. We have no access to your API keys.
To function, this extension communicates directly with third-party Large Language Model (LLM) APIs chosen and configured by you.
- When you send a prompt or selected text to the AI, that data is sent directly to the API endpoint you have configured (e.g., OpenAI, Google, or your custom endpoint).
- We have no control over how these third-party providers handle your data. Please review the privacy policies of the respective providers you choose to use.
We do not use analytical tools, trackers, or telemetry to monitor your usage of the extension. Your browsing behavior and interactions remain entirely private.
By using the OpenBrowserChat extension, you consent to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the extension.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, please open an issue on our GitHub repository: https://github.com/fishfl/OpenBrowserChat/issues
