Hi, I'm Carlos Fontán 👋

Industrial Software Developer focused on IT/OT integration, Industrial IoT and automation.

I build software that connects physical systems with modern web applications: industrial control, real-time data, edge deployments, APIs, dashboards and integrations between machines, sensors and business systems.

My background sits between automation/robotics and full-stack development, which helps me understand both the factory floor and the software architecture needed to make it observable, reliable and useful.

What I work on

  • Industrial software & IT/OT integration — connecting PLCs, machines, sensors and databases with web platforms and operational tools.
  • Industrial IoT & real-time systems — MQTT, OPC-UA, WebSockets, Node-RED, telemetry, dashboards and event-driven workflows.
  • Full-stack applications — React/Next.js, Node.js/Express, APIs, PostgreSQL/MongoDB and user interfaces for industrial contexts.
  • Edge & field deployments — Docker/Linux/ARM, ESP32, gateways, local-first tools and systems designed to run close to the process.
  • Vision & automation — camera-based inspection, OpenCV-style workflows, robotics/cobot experience and automation problem solving.
