Have you tried by encoding the video_url?

I.e., if your video_url is http://media.w3.org/2010/05/sintel/trailer.mp4?test=yes, instead of using

curl http://localhost:3000/?video_url=http://media.w3.org/2010/05/sintel/trailer.mp4?test=yes

Use

curl http://localhost:3000/?video_url=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.w3.org%2F2010%2F05%2Fsintel%2Ftrailer.mp4%3Ftest%3Dyes
