Collect some ring samples

As I have no experience of real life OpenStack Swift system deployment and management, it is hard for me to see many corner cases out there in real battlefields, such as missing device in the array (hole), non-integer replica, larger ring size and so on. It is also hard for me to generate some reasonable configuration without relative knowledge .

So, I may need your help. I want to collect some hash ring object file, so that I can work on these as the input for development.

I am thinking is it a good idea to put hash ring files into the git repo, or does anybody have a better idea?

And by the way, if you have confidential concern, then don't publish them here. When you are using default hash prefix and suffix changeme, it might be possible for attacker to perform a effective hash collision attack based on the ring file on your storage (if it is a public one).

There's nothing that prevents you from building rings locally with any characteristics you want. Since, ultimately, the ring is just a file, you don't need to refer to real servers to build a ring.

I'd suggest a "medium" sized ring with a part power of 18 and a few hundred devices in it. For example:

Other things to play with would be to adjust the weights and display that differently. Adjust the replica count (including with floating point numbers).
