[Bug]: KDE Freezes When Closing Update Check Error Dialog

Problem summary

Occasionally, I lose my internet connection. While this is understandable and I accept that apdatifier cannot check for updates without connectivity, the problem occurs afterward: error messages consistently appear (see below).

Unfortunately, these error messages are not informative at all. They don't explain why the check failed.

Additionally, when I try to close the error dialog, KDE freezes completely for approximately 30 seconds. I suspect the error message contains too much text or is oversized.

Steps to reproduce

1. Disconnect from the Internet.
2. Wait while the system checks for updates.
3. Try to close the error message.
   (Don't panic. KDE only takes 30 seconds.)

The error text is actually fine, the issue is that the AUR helper includes the full RPC URL with every installed AUR package as a query param (arg[]=...). With many AUR packages that URL becomes enormous. Still surprising it freezes KDE for 30 seconds though.

The fix: the URL in errors is now shortened to https://aur.archlinux.org/rpc?…, so the message stays compact.

You can enable Connectivity check in Settings → General → Misc → Network, this skips update checks entirely when no internet access is detected.
