The bug

I've been having this bug for a while now, but just put the iOS setting together with my random time zone changes in my mind. When the "set time from device" setting is enabled, the time zone randomly changes at odd intervals. I haven't been able to track down exactly when it changes, as like I said before, it changes randomly, but when I set the time to a completely random time after a reboot, the CTS bluetooth service was able to set the watch time back correctly after a long enough period of time (which I'm also not sure why, as it should also be an instantaneous time change back).
I'm not well versed in how CTS (current time service) works, so I'm not sure if this is something on my end, or even a problem with CTS at all, but I wanted to see if this was happening to anyone else, and if anyone knew why.

Specifics:
The time zone randomly changes from -4 (my current time zone) to -5, setting it an hour back. When I disconnect the phone, set the time randomly, and reconnect, after a while it sets the time correctly.

I don't actually have an iPhone to test, but could it be something like CTS is setting the time zone with E.setTimeZone but then not saving it to settings so when you change app it loses it?

It could be - although I didn't set the time zone when I changed the time, so it would have been 0, not -5....
Does android have an option to set time, and if so, does it work the same way?

Android sets time like the App Loader does - just by sending JS commands I think.

Looking at the code for the ios app it looks like we do save the timezone, but I wonder whether the app loader (which uses WebView) and CTS service have a different idea of what the timezone is, and so depending what happens more recently set it to different things?
