FYI, the feature to set the width of the sidebar has been introduced in version 11.2.0

A perhaps also modify the positioning? Not sure id that is possible at all though...
But I would love to position the menu horizontally, with dropdown menu's and use the total screen width for my dashboards. Without the extra clutter...

I think that what you are searching for is a header or a top menu instead of a sidebar, this plugin is aiming to personalise the sidebar but keeping it as a sidebar, not transforming it into something else. If you would like to have a header or another kind of component, it is better to hide the sidebar and personalise the header (something that this plugin is not intended for).

The existing Home Assistant sidebar has many functionalities already, to open it, to close it, to change its order, to react to screen gestures, etc. Making what you are proposing is the door for a can of worms, it would create issues overall. So my recommendation stands, you should search a card to create a top menu or tom personalise the header (something that existed before and I am willing to rescue but I need to find the time to do it).
