# Egolint third-party notices

Egolint's original Rust code, documentation, and first-party lint policy are
licensed under MIT unless a file-level annotation says otherwise.

The `egolint-full` container is built on MegaLinter. MegaLinter is distributed
under AGPL-3.0-only and is available at
https://github.com/oxsecurity/megalinter/tree/v10.0.0. This repository
explicitly ships the full license text at `LICENSES/AGPL-3.0-only.txt` and
copies it into the full image. The full image preserves MegaLinter's runtime
entrypoint. It also contains many independent lint tools and locked Node policy
dependencies, each governed by its own license. This repository's MIT license
does not replace any of those terms.

Some prose rules under `.config/lint/prose/styles/proselint` are derived from
Proselint and are BSD-3-Clause licensed. Some rules under
`.config/lint/prose/styles/write-good` are derived from write-good and remain
MIT licensed. Copyright and path-specific SPDX annotations are recorded in
`REUSE.toml`.

Release automation is expected to attach an SBOM and provenance to each
published image. During the alpha, inspect the locally built image and its
upstream base image before redistribution.
