I love the ease of use of the Gallery Cards, especially with how they are able to retain backlink metadata (which code block based alternatives don't support). However, there doesn't seem to be any way to add captions to individual images. Is there any way to add support for that, perhaps by supporting nested callouts within Gallery Cards (alt text solutions tend to cause mod conflicts)? This would be for Live Preview mode; so List Grid isn't suitable for me.
