[bug] update system relies on init.defaultbranch having its default value.

Reproduction steps:

1. run git config --global init.defaultbranch trunk
2. download and run this program
3. click the "Repositories" tab
4. "Project Ignis updates" will show an error
5. click "Error!"
6. error message saying DeltaBagooska can't be cloned because refs/heads/trunk does not exist

hey, I've been trying to reproduce the issue, but don't seem to be able to reproduce it on my end, tested both on windows and on artix linux, both by setting the branch to trunk and then having the client do a partial update, and also by having the client do a full clone (by deleting the repo).
What are the steps you're doing to reproduce the issue?

I am downloading and extracting this targball and running it directly from the executable. Make sure you change the branch name globally, and change it before opening the fresh install for the first time.

Here's some package versions, in case that matters:

🤔, still can't reproduce it yet, could you see if you have any env var set regarding git?
Also another helpful thing would be if you were to run strace on the game at first launch, and see if there's any access to the gitconfig files.
I also tested on an actual Arch environment and same result.
Locally I bad no access to those files in my strace log (which is what I would expect).

you might need to delete any local data related to the program?

the only slightly relevant envars I have set are EDITOR=nano and PAGER=cat
