As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof).

  1. Expected Behavior

We expect all contributors to the project to:

Be respectful and considerate towards others. Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive language. Exercise empathy and understanding in interactions with fellow contributors. Accept constructive criticism gracefully and respond positively to it. Respect the work and opinions of others, even if they differ from your own. Focus on resolving conflicts peacefully and professionally.

  1. Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include but are not limited to:

The use of sexualized language or imagery. Offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability. Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks. Public or private harassment. Publishing others' private information, such as physical or electronic addresses, without explicit permission. Any other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

  1. Reporting Violations

If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify us as soon as possible via JHR37@pitt.edu. All complaints will be treated seriously and will be investigated promptly and confidentially. We pledge to keep your identity confidential whenever possible.

  1. Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may result in a warning or permanent expulsion from the project, as determined by the project maintainers. Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct or to ban temporarily or permanently any contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
