Hi,
Great Project and idea! I've been using LTSpice and trying to get into QSpice. Both are somewhat suited for audio, this is of course much more focused. I'm wondering if the Road-map allows for builds for Mac (and Linux) in the future? At least with Mac many people use SPICE Tools and DAWs with VST integration. I'm myself using Mac, Linux and Windows, but usually run DAWs nowadays only on MacOS systems.
I'd be delighted to help out and beta-test in any way I can. I know getting VSTs to work on MacOS isn't straight-forward, neither is any kind of software now with the new Apple Silicon (Mx) Chipsets.
I've some experience in software development, 20 years of experience in running large scale data-centers, HPC systems and ISP networks. Used to do extensive security and cryptography research. I've been designing and building analog audio HW from 500-series/out-board DIY kits to custom boards for e.g. Summing, Mixing and 500-Series prototyping. This project would be very useful to me if it ran natively on MacOS. From there a Linux build is not that far off. Again the main issue I see is VST integration -- which I'll have to read up on.
Maybe I can be of help. For Linux all sensible Audio Projects support JACK Audio (Reaper, Renoise etc.) as ALSA is just not modular and expendable enough, JACK Audio comes as a pre-requisite anyway. Right now I do not have a Linux Desktop to test on, but can cross compile and build on VMs and older Laptops, if need be.
Let me know what you think and how I can help out. I'm trying my best with the current software-state in a Windows VM (along with QSpice) and will try to contribute back, time permitting.
All the best,
Aaron
