Hi everyone!
I’ve been following this project from the sidelines, and I wanted to stop by and say that you’re doing a fantastic job. It is clear that a massive amount of time and energy has gone into this, and the progress so far is really impressive.
I’m not a user of the tool yet, but I am keeping a very close eye on it. This is exactly the kind of project I would personally use every day once it’s fully developed.
One feature I would love to see added eventually is a Keyboard Remapper (similar to the Windows PowerToys Keyboard Manager). I know keyboard remapping on Linux can be tricky because of the differences between X11 and Wayland, but I had a thought on a "handy way" it could be implemented:
Implementation Idea:
Perhaps the project could leverage a backend like
evdevanduinput.evdevand re-emitting them throughuinput, the tool would work system-wide regardless of whether the user is on X11 or Wayland.evdevapproach would ensure the remapper stays robust even if the project eventually expands to other desktop environments.I'd love to hear if this is on the roadmap or if the team has looked into this approach. Keep up the amazing work, I'm looking forward to the day I can make this a core part of my Linux setup!
