Last seen

Is there anyway save the "last seen" result so when you restart the "MagicMirror" it show the "last seen" if no new connection was found to the "device / ip" ?

Thanks for the suggestion. This would require a fairly significant change to the module. I will look into this but there are several considerations, chief among them impact on performance. The "last seen" property of a device is stored in an array of objects which is updated frequently. This already poses a performance issue. I would need to save this array using something like the localStorage browser API or probably better, an NPM module like electron-store or electron-json-storage. I would want to perform a save only on exit and not every time the devices array is updated.

It's a good suggestion but will require some thought.

Thanks for the answer, i am not good at this stuff at all and have more or less no clue how it actually works...

I have use this module like forever and have always miss that's it not save the information that it got, i restart my mirror every night so the data is always gone the next day..

If it is s performance problem, why not make it optional to use ? I have not found any lag or anything other in my current setup and maybe a way to set how often or when the backup should be performed..

An option in the config file to save and restore device properties across restarts would be good. That way if it does present an issue it could be disabled. Another thing I have to deal with is devices appearing or disappearing between MagicMirror restarts. That is, there are little gotchas here and there but nothing that would prevent this from working (i think).

I will work on a development branch for this feature and let you know when it is ready for testing. I am going to be unavailable for some stretch thru the holidays so may not have anything till next year. Hold tight and happy holidays!

It turned out to be more difficult than I anticipated then I got pulled off onto other projects. I do not know when I will get back to this. For now, it is not supported. I am keeping this issue open and welcome any help/suggestions. Thanks for reminding me and please continue to ping this issue every so often. I do hope to get back to it.
