1m Models and Opus 5 in Claude Code

Please Add the 1m models available to the claude code subscription, since currently it only works with 200k token window models, if I am not mistaken, add the opus 5 model from anthropic to the models for claude code as well, it is a great need. Thanks for all the work!

Hey @joelsb! Two separate asks in one message -- let me split them:

1m-context models on Claude Code -- the 1M context window is gated upstream by Anthropic and is only available on certain tiers; I cannot enable it on a Claude Code subscription from OmniRoute side. If your plan supports 1M you just need to set the right model id (e.g. claude-opus-4.8[1m] or claude-sonnet-4.5[1m]) in the model field. If your plan does not include it, OmniRoute cannot add it for you.

Opus 5 from Anthropic -- Anthropic has not published Opus 5 as of today (2026-08-03). If you saw a leak or vendor mentioning it, paste the source and I will track it; otherwise there is nothing for OmniRoute to add yet.

Tracking this as a follow-up to the existing Claude-code 1m/opus-5 work in #9167 -- if you have the exact model id string you want exposed I will attach it there.

I discover that I could just change the model to yse the 1m session window on claude code with the same mod I would use om the combo and it worked right away.

About the new model its out already and be choosed as claude-opus-5, you can see it in the picture what model I added as custom and its working.

@joelsb — glad it works! Two confirmations from your side that help close the loop:

• 1M context: yes, just set the model id you want (e.g. claude-opus-4.8[1m]) in the model field — the 1M suffix routes to the same connection, just the upstream context-window parameter.
• Opus 5: I see your screenshot with the custom model — Anthropic has not officially announced Opus 5 as of today (2026-08-05), so that model id may be from a provider reselling under that name. If you are getting actual Opus-5-class responses, share the provider source and I will add it to the catalog.

Marking this as resolved — if you have follow-ups on the 1M routing or the custom Opus 5 source, re-open or file a fresh issue.

Follow-up @joelsb - I linked this request to #9957 for 1M Claude variants and Opus 5 exposure in Claude Code. The existing catalog defect remains tracked in #9167, so the new issue focuses on the broader integration behavior without duplicating that bug.

@joelsb A small correction to my pointer: 1M-context Claude models and Opus 5 are available, but #9957 wasn't what shipped them; it was closed as backlog. They come from the Claude catalog: claude-opus-5 is listed with a 1,000,000-token context (open-sse/config/providers/registry/claude/index.ts), along with Opus 4.6–4.8, Sonnet 5 and Sonnet 4.6. The 1M-context beta header is handled in open-sse/executors/claudeIdentity.ts. Closing this as resolved.
