ZE1 (2018) - Can the original Nissan SIM be used for initial testing? #38
|
Hi, First of all, thank you for all the work you've put into OpenCARWINGS. I'm currently trying to connect my European Nissan Leaf ZE1 (2018). Current status: OpenCARWINGS account created. My question is: Is replacing the original Nissan SIM card mandatory before any testing, or can I first reprogram the TCU to use the OpenCARWINGS server while keeping the original Nissan SIM? The setup wizard recommends replacing the SIM with a Hologram IoT SIM, but I'm wondering if this is only the recommended configuration for SMS automation, or if it is technically required for the TCU to communicate with the OpenCARWINGS server. The TCU appears to be fully operational: TCU activation = 1 I'd appreciate any advice before modifying the TCU configuration. Thank you! |

Hello togeher, |
Hi. Sorry for not answering for a long time. How can your sim card be active? Are you sure it is operational? Is the car icon on top right corner of nissanconnect menu crossed out? |

Unfortunately my leaf has been build in march 2019, and is not supported anymore by Nissan, since April.

I am not the author of that project. I am only some guy trying to see if it can work. I was trying to get some help maybe from the author. But let me just ask you. Shouldn't your 2019 still be functional with the original Nissan servers?

Hello togeher,
I am keen to use the OpenCARWINGS for a Nissan Leaf ZE1 - from 2019, with SD card. Can you please create a tutorial for this?
Here it is: https://opencarwings.viaaq.eu/static/navi_guide2.html
Remember you will need to change sim for this, read more here about sim situation https://github.com/developerfromjokela/nissan-leaf-tcu/blob/master/gen2/SIMSLOT.md

I haven't found any info on the eUICC chip on the board, so I think it's unlikely. I just recommend doing the sim slot soldering or doing it using https://shop.viaaq.eu/product/nissan-leaf-tcu-repair-sim-holder-installation-sim-plan-and-configuration/ |
