usb3sun one keeps resetting and one has mouse issues

Hi again :)

I have populated the remainder of my PCB's.
3 out of 5 are working perfect.

One does work but the mouse is not responding in linux. Resetting the device does not help and sometimes i see the cursor move to the corner.

The other has problem when i insert keyboard and/or mouse, it keeps resetting and i think i hear the fuse clicking.
Without the usb device inserted, the usb3sun stays on.
So, could this be due a bad Rpi? or could it be something else.

Another question.
The firmware is made for QWERTY keyboards. Would it be possible to adjust or add a firmware for a AZERTY Belgian keyboard.

sometimes this can happen if the mouse baud rate is too high, though i have not seen that on linux before. can you try lowering your mouse baud rate in the settings?

that’s possible, although it could also be due to a fault outside of the pico. can you check that VBUS1 and VBUS2 aren’t connected to GND or the +3V3 rail when something is plugged in (but everything is unpowered)?

each downstream usb port has a 500mA fuse, but to actually trip the fuse you need to draw 1A for 100ms (for example). this is unlikely to trip the 1.5A fuse over the whole adapter, since that would require 3A for 300ms (for example), but it may exceed the current available from the sun keyboard port for long enough that the pico resets.

it’s possible, but realistically you would be better off doing it yourself. i started working on it in #16, but since then a lot has happened in my life, and nowadays i don’t really have the time or energy to work on this project.

my advice would be to build the firmware yourself, then modify the key bindings to your liking and rebuild the firmware. if you need to identify as a different keyboard layout on the sun interface, you can modify this line.

Thank you for your time. For the AZERTY, i will leave like it is, QWERTY is most commonly used. For the Reset, i have checked and reflow the Rpi connections. That seemed to solved the problem. For, the mouse, i couldn't solve the problem. I gave that away to someone and explained the issue.
