DeepSWE Dataset Notice

This directory is a cleaned, redistribution-oriented copy of the DeepSWE task data used by deepagent-eval. It is not an embedded Git repository or a submodule.

Local Packaging Changes

The 113 task payloads are retained with their original instructions, task metadata, environment definitions, reference solutions, tests, grader configuration, and verifier implementations. The following packaging changes were made for this project:

  1. Removed the upstream repository's .git metadata, .gitignore, and duplicate repository README files. These files are not task payloads.
  2. Added repos/, which contains checksummed, compressed Git object archives for the exact upstream base commits declared by the tasks. These archives are inert data files in this repository, not nested repositories or submodules. They are materialized only into a temporary workspace at test time.
  3. Added repos/manifest.json to map each task and upstream repository URL to its local archive, size, and SHA-256 digest.

The local packaging does not claim affiliation with, endorsement by, or official leaderboard compatibility with Datacurve AI, DeepSWE, Pier, or Harbor.

Licensing

The included LICENSE is the upstream Apache License 2.0. As stated in the upstream PROVENANCE.md, that license covers Datacurve AI Inc.'s original DeepSWE contributions, including task specifications, evaluation harness material, verifiers, and curation. It does not relicense code from the upstream open-source projects used by the tasks.

Each upstream project remains under its own license. The task-to-project and task-to-license mapping is preserved verbatim in PROVENANCE.md. The local repository archives preserve the selected upstream Git objects, including the license and attribution files present at each selected base commit. Users who use or redistribute those archives must comply with both the DeepSWE license and the applicable upstream project license.

The retained legal files were verified against the upstream main branch:
