Summary
Let the user set a custom icon for apps and collections so sidebar entries are easier to organize and visually distinct.
Requested behavior
- A setting for each app and each collection (resource collection) to assign a custom icon:
- set from the app/collection settings, or a context menu on the sidebar entry
- Supported icon types:
- an emoji
- a single character
- a small PNG (simple image pick)
- Icon renders in the sidebar next to the app/collection name, replacing the default icon
- Falls back to the current default icon when no custom icon is set
- Persists with the app/collection metadata across app restarts (saved via the native layer like other collection metadata)
Motivation
With several apps and collections in the sidebar, name-only scanning is slow. A distinct icon per app/collection makes groups easier to spot at a glance.
Notes
- Deliberately kept minimal: one icon per entry, three supported formats (emoji / character / small PNG). No full image library, drag-to-reorder, or theming.
