Problem
UAM currently has no speech-based interaction mode. Voice dictation was explored in #81 and #120 (both closed), but these focused on short-form dictation input for chat messages, not a full speech interaction mode.
Expected behavior
A "speech mode" where the user can interact with UAM primarily through voice — speaking commands, receiving spoken responses, and having a hands-free workflow.
Scope
This is a long-term feature. Key components would include:
- Speech-to-text for voice commands and chat input
- Text-to-speech for reading responses aloud
- Voice command recognition for navigation and actions
- Configurable wake words or activation triggers
- Settings for voice profiles, languages, and output preferences
Notes
Marked as long-term/epic. This is far from immediate priority.
