ah -- apparently some developments on _datalad_buildsupport were done in this repo directly, and never propagated to datalad core. In particular that --cmdsuite option added in ba57510 of #6 and which added dedicated rule update-buildsupport which would update from https://github.com/datalad/datalad-buildsupport which we never updated for the past 2 years ...
