Sefi: Current Status

Phase: Phase 1 - Minimal Loop
Version: v0.3 (N-D Primary)


Foundation Complete ✅

Implemented

  • types.rs - Complete v0.3 schema with Tempo, PreCard, BasinFeedback
  • ledger/store.rs - In-memory ledger with tests passing
  • CLI stub - Command parsing works (emit, status)
  • Project structure - All modules stubbed

Completed (M1.1)

  • embed/mod.rs - Mock embedding service (SHA256-based, 768d)
  • clustering/mod.rs - Streaming clustering with two-tempo decay
  • Medoid computation - Real concept anchors (not centroids)
  • Cohesion metric - Average pairwise similarity

In Progress

  • clustering (M1.2) - Upgrade to DBSCAN-lite
  • validator (M1.2) - Basin validator wrapper
  • feedback (M1.3) - PreCard generation
  • CLI wiring (M1.4) - Integration with engine
  • Engine (M1.4) - Main loop integration

Architecture Decisions (v0.3)

Key Choices from Guest Critique:

  1. N-D Primary: All semantic work happens in N-D space
  2. Two-tempo decay: Fast/Slow/Urgent for different signal types
  3. Tiered synthesis: Template (instant) → Light → Heavy
  4. Medoid not centroid: Real concepts, not phantoms
  5. 2D deferred: Visualization will be Phase 2 (monitor only)

Architect Approval: Foundation reviewed and approved ✅


Build Plan

Milestones:

  • M1.1: Embedding + clustering + two-tempo decay (✅ Complete)
  • M1.2: Upgrade to DBSCAN-lite + validator
  • M1.3: Feedback emitter (PreCard templates)
  • M1.4: Wire up CLI + engine integration
  • M1.5: Integration tests + demo script

Builder: Claude Code Status: M1.1 complete, ready for M1.2


Phase 1 Success Criteria

Minimal Loop Demo:

  • Unit tests for clustering, validator, feedback
  • Integration test for complete loop

Next Steps

For Claude Code (Builder):

  1. Read BUILD_PLAN.md
  2. Implement M1.1 (clustering) with tests
  3. Commit when tests pass
  4. Move to M1.2
  5. Report back to architect when M1.5 complete

For Architect (Me):

  • Review code when milestones complete
  • Answer builder questions
  • Sign off on Phase 1 before Phase 2
