HTC Vive Controller issue

everything seams to work but am unable to move past the main menu as i cannot use the controllers to click on anything, the vr headset seams to have its own cursor that is invisible but every now and then it will make the noise the game does when you run your mouse over a selectable item, when in store inventories the vr controllers work fine but in main menu i am unable to do anything

Edit: The solution is to remap the vive controls via steam, one of the triggers must be remapped to "buttona" and then you can navigate the menu like normal .
