Here comes a new quest: Is there an easy way to create a template for people to insert their photo and talk details? Maybe a script they can run that doesn't involving using graphics software. Or is this too ambitious?

People usually prefer to use interactive applications to make their graphics - Word, LIbreOffice, LaTeX, Typst, Canva, FIgma, Pages, InDesign - but you wouldn't want to make templates for each of them?

Running a script introduces all kinds of additional problems of variable layout and alternative options, plus there's the inability to adjust the output without delving into the script. I'd say it might be too ambitious...

Okay, thanks! I guess that makes sense. What's the best option for a template that people can DIY their photos and talk info?

The current template (template.png or template.svg) might work for some people's DIY.

Or they could just use any or none of the elements in https://github.com/cormullion/graphics/blob/master/juliacon2026/:

As you know, I recommend avoiding the "Julia fonts" (MNLatin and JuliaMono) for basic graphics work, in favour of fonts like Barlow... :)

Many thanks! For the template.svg, can I please have several backgrounds with different colours for different purpose? Like for different kinds of announcements.
