Long story short, the SCP protocol has been deprecated for a while, and since Ventura, the 'scp' command switched to 'sftp' under the hood. The '-O' option switches it back to the SCP protocol. So try e.g. scp -O -r Figures amu561@gadi.nci.org.au:/g/data/w97/amu561/Steven_CABLE_runs/
