- Respecting Differences: Acknowledging that we all come from different backgrounds
- Being Patient: Understanding that not everyone has the same level of experience
- Harassment: The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind
- Trolling: Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Discrimination: Public or private harassment based on any protected characteristic
- Privacy Violations: Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
- Professionalism: Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
- Disrespect: Dismissing or attacking someone for their level of experience
- Spam: Posting irrelevant content or excessive self-promotion
- Disruption: Deliberately disrupting discussions or events
- Clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior
- Taking appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful
- Removing, editing, or rejecting comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct
- Communicating reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate
This Code of Conduct applies to:
- All Community Spaces: GitHub repositories, discussions, issues, pull requests
- Public Representation: When representing the project in public spaces (social media, conferences, etc.)
- Private Communication: When community members are acting as representatives
This Code of Conduct also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces.
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at:

- Reviewed promptly and fairly
- Kept confidential to the extent possible
- Investigated thoroughly
- Handled with appropriate action
- Your contact information
- Names (real, nicknames, or pseudonyms) of any individuals involved
- Your account of what occurred (including links if possible)
- Any additional context or evidence
- If you believe this incident is ongoing
- Acknowledgment: Within 24 hours
- Investigation: Within 1 week
- Decision: Within 2 weeks
- Appeal Process: Available if needed
Community leaders will follow these guidelines in determining consequences:
Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome.
Consequence: A private, written warning providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.
Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.
Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved for a specified period. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as well as external channels like social media. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.
Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period. No public or private interaction with the people involved is allowed during this period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.
Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment, or aggression toward individuals or classes of individuals.
Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
- No Judgment: This is a learning-friendly space. No question is "stupid"
- Encouragement: Celebrate progress, no matter how small
- Patience: Remember that everyone was a beginner once
- Help: Offer help without condescension
- Constructive: Focus on the code, not the person
- Respectful: Phrase feedback as suggestions
- Educational: Explain why something could be improved
- Appreciative: Thank contributors for their effort
- On-Topic: Keep discussions relevant to Codesi
- Respectful Disagreement: It's okay to disagree, but do so respectfully
- Evidence-Based: Support arguments with facts and examples
- No Spam: Avoid repetitive or off-topic posts
- Inclusive: Codesi welcomes Hindi, English, and Hinglish speakers
- Respectful: Respect cultural differences
- Accessible: Explain cultural references that may not be universal
- Welcoming: Make non-native speakers feel comfortable
The Codesi community is committed to diversity and inclusion:
