machineConfig.v3.js - the client-side agent that collects configuration and monitoring information, and makes it available over HTTP port 8888. Requires node, some node modules, and two executables to run:
klog - launched by machineConfig.v3.js. Listens on kernel buffer for storage-related messages, summarizes them, and spits out a summary on SIGALRM. Written in C (poorly)
sniffex - launched by machineConfig.v3.js. Listens on live IP interfaces for TCP packets, counts total length, and spits out a summary on SIGALRM. Written in C (poorly)
hwmonparser.v2.js - a central collector that grabs config/monitoring data from agents (machineConfig) and writes into database. Requires Cassandra, node, and node module to talk to Cassandra. Also requires specific table config in Cassandra
cassandra.txt - Cassandra table configuration. May not be completely up to date, and anyway I'm going to redesign a lot in the way the data is stored right now to make it more compact
mapper.v2.js - runs on the Cassandra node, reads map and monitoring information from the DB, and makes it available over HTTP port 8125 to the client browser. There's a hack with cross-origin web requests that I need to fix.
Nginx - a webserver that front-ends mapper.v2.js and makes data available to browser. Config file that should work on all platforms I think

Ubuntu Linux Setup:
1. Need to apt-get install the following linux tools:
node
ethtool
hwloc or libhwloc-common (for lstopo)
cassandra
2. Need to install libcap then compile sniffex linked to it:
gcc -Wall -pthread sniffex.c -o sniffex -lpcap
klog can be compiled with a simple
gcc klog.c -o klog
Copy both to /root/
A sniffex and klog built on Ubuntu 12.04 are available in the repo
3. Initiate the Cassandra database
cqlsh -f cassandra.txt
4. npm install
Starting the systems:
0. Ensure Cassandra is starting service start cassandra
- For Data
1. sudo node machineConfig.v3.js
2. node hwmonparser.v2.js
- For Visualization
3. node mapper.js
4. Browse to http://localhost/svg1.html
