Hi there! 👋
First of all, thank you so much for creating CompressO — it's an amazing tool, and I really appreciate you making it free and open-source for everyone.
I've created a Traditional Chinese (zh-TW) translation of CompressO for users in Taiwan. The fork is available here:
What was translated
- All UI strings (buttons, labels, tooltips, error messages, settings, etc.)
- About page and Credits page
- README with a beginner-friendly installation tutorial in Chinese
- A pre-built macOS (Apple Silicon) release for easy installation
What was NOT changed
- No changes to core functionality, compression engines, or app architecture
- All original license and copyright notices are preserved
- The fork links back to this original repo and credits you as the original author
Why
CompressO is a great tool, but many users in Taiwan are more comfortable with a Chinese interface. This translation makes it more accessible to them.
If you're interested, I'd be happy to contribute the translations back to the main project as a PR (e.g., as an i18n system so CompressO can support multiple languages). Just let me know!
Thank you again for your excellent work. 🙏
