@martinjuckes as noted in WCRP-CMIP/CMIP6_CVs#704 (comment) we'd like to amend the OMIP data request.
The omip1, omip1-spunup, omip2, omip2-spunup experiments will all be run with varying model configurations that depending on the model may require 2 to 6 cycles of the 61 (1958 to 2018, JRA55-do) or 62 (1948 to 2009, CORE-2) years of forcing data, before a final cycle is simulated and saved at full monthly (using the Omon table output) resolution. For these preceding "spinup" cycles, we want to request data is saved at the annual Oyr resolution, to reduce the storage footprint, whilst maintaining output that will be used to diagnose model drift, in addition to AMOC/ACC transports as an integrated diagnostic.
What additional information is required to get such a change implemented for the upcoming 01.00.31 data request release?
ping @StephenGriffies @HiroyukiTsujino @jamesorr @taylor13 if the details noted below are correct, we can revise and update the experiment "description" in addition to the brief "experiment" summary in the CMIP6_CVs, which is displayed at CMIP6_experiment_id.html
