Is it possible to deploy ARM-based image on the x86 based controller

Thru out the guides inside the clustervision the cross-platform from x86 controller node

would it be possible to deploy the images from the yaml inside the site to deploy ARM64 images inside the x86 controller?

Hi James,

We have looked into this but there are major roadblocks. Biggest concern are the images. These are incomparable. Though packing can be done through a quite complex middle step like using qemu, it only solves one problem. It also forces to use EL10 on the controller. Lchroot to change images won't work either as well shared libraries, though this is the least problem.

In short for the current situation, no, unfortunately not.

Hi Jing Wei,

We are currently exploring a complete different approach for lchroot, which would allow for mix arch and as such also provide packing. This is not included in 16, but likely in 16.1. Current 16 does not support mixed architecture approach, but is stable for all the other components delivered/included
