Check registration by driver's license number

I'm working on a mobile app that will help people check if they are registered, know when elections are coming up and viewing the status of their absentee ballot. A potential feature I came up with would be to allow a user to scan the barcode on their license, which has all the info required (license #, birth year/month) to look up their voter registration info.

I will probably take a stab at implementing this later, but just wanted to mark it down as an API request.

So the barcode does not contain the person's name?

The "regular" barcode at the top above the mag stripe does not, it only contains license number, DOB, and expiry date. The 2D barcode below the strip is PDF417 formatted and contains things like name, DOB, and address, but the name fields Michigan encodes are the family (last) name, and first and middle name(s) concatenated, so it's not possible to 100% accurately guess the first name from that data.
